Burp Suite is an integrated platform for performing security testing of web applications. It is designed to be used by hands-on testers to support the testing process. Here we will see how you can install it for free on your Windows 7/8/10 64-bit machine.

Things that you will need:

1. Java JDK (13.0.2) - Download
2. Burp Suite Pro zip file (2021.4.1) - Download

After you have downloaded both the files, follow these steps:

• Run the downloaded file jdk-13.0.2_windows-x64_bin.exe and let it install.

• Search environment in the Windows search bar. You will see a match for Edit the system environment variables. Open it and then click Environment Variables button in the bottom.

  You will see a window containing a part like this:

Under the System variables tab, click New and add the following variables:

Variable name: CLASSPATH

Variable value: C:Program FilesJavajdk-13.0.2lib*.jar

Click OK. Then click New again and add another variable:

Variable name: JAVA_HOME

Variable value: C:Program FilesJavajdk-13.0.2

Finally, double click the Path variable and click New. Add the following path:

• Go to File > Save As... and open the folder you extracted earlier. Save the file there as: BurpLoader.bat. Remember to select All Files in the Save as type option as shown:

• Now whenever you want to open Burp Suite, just double click on your BurpLoader.bat file.
